Proposed bylaw updates for 10/22/2022

The following paragraph is in the LSVFC 1 adopted by-laws section 5 paragraph 4a.

4. To be elected to the following Fire Officer positions the candidate must meet the following requirements: a. Candidates for the office of Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Captain, First Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant must meet the requirements of the New Jersey Incident Management Level(s) I, II & III Course(s) and Hazmat on-scene Commander as recognized by the New Jersey Division of Fire & Safety, or as amended by state statutes and regulations.

Proposed amendment to the LSVFC 1 bylaws will replace the above paragraph.

4. To be elected to the following Fire Officer positions the candidate must meet the following requirements:
a. Candidates for the office of Fire Chief & Assistant Fire Chief must meet the requirements of the New Jersey Incident Management Level(s) I, II & III Course(s) and Hazmat on-scene Commander as recognized by the New Jersey Division of Fire & Safety, or as amended by state statutes and regulations.

b. Candidates for the office of Captain, First Lieutenant, & Second Lieutenant must meet the requirements of the New Jersey Incident Management Level I, Course and Hazmat on-scene Commander as recognized by the New Jersey Division of Fire & Safety, or as amended by state statutes and regulations. Candidates for the office of Captain, First Lieutenant, & Second Lieutenant must also meet the requirements of the New Jersey Incident Management Level II, & III Courses and Hazmat on-scene Commander as recognized by the New Jersey Division of Fire & Safety, or as amended by state statutes and regulations.

These Courses must be completed within two years of being elected to the position of Captain, First Lieutenant, or Second Lieutenant.
